Final Project Part 4:  Presentation Progress Report (20 points, 4% of the final grade)

Due date: end of Week 6 by 11:59PM EST in the Assignments area  (Submit your Progress Report to the Assignment Folder.  Note:  You will be given either a “pass” or “revise” grade.  “Pass” is worth 20 points’ “revise” gives you an opportunity to revise your Report/Outline according to the instructor’s feedback and when it passes, you will receive 20 points.)

For the Progress Report, a preliminary outline will suggest what you plan to address in your presentation. You may provide an actual outline, or describe in words the approach you will take.

Use the rubric for the final presentation to help you structure your outline.

Your outline and presentation should  include the following components:

• Define your topic,   Applied sciences linking it to technology and society
• Trace the history of your topic
• Describe how your topic compares to at least one other culture
• Identify relevant policies related to your topic
• Discuss future trends related to your topic

In addition, you should provide a well-written paragraph that identifies the type of presentation you plan to give (e.g. PowerPoint slideshow, Prezi, written materials, podcast, YouTube, etc.). Your presentation should be creative, engaging, and informative. Remember that in the last week of class, YOU become the teachers. Think about your audience and how to present material in an interesting and clear manner.  Keep in mind that I am looking for what you produce, not what you find that someone else has produced.  For example. if you find a video that runs more than a minute, of so, sumarize it in a short paragraph or slide and provide a link to it as optional or supplemental.
