The colors are neutral and basic, mainly black, brown, and white, with grey shading also indicating an “old school” perception, along with using equipment that is less advanced and was used in older times, such as the recorder, satellite, and other items seen.
Banksy is classified as a “street artist” because his graffiti carries artistic and social messages, unlike random vandalism. His artworks are known for their political and social commentary, making society and bystanders think about the messages being portrayed. Many of Banksy’s graffiti pieces have been removed from their original locations by property owners, authorities, or collectors. (CBBC, 2024). Some have been sold at auctions for large sums, while others have been preserved and displayed in galleries or museums, for example a mobile home with his work was priced at $500,000, and other artwork such as the infamous girl with the floating balloon was sold for 1 million and later self- destructed and re-sold for a much higher price. (Britannica, 2024. The removal and sale of Banksy’s work raise questions about the ownership and preservation of public art. There is ongoing debate about whether Banksy’s graffiti should be taken from its original public setting.
In my opinion, I believe that Banksy would come forward he would be open to create a safe space for his work and open it to the public and come up with a solution with the government to display his work in places that are approved due to the high demand of his art by followers. I think he is afraid to show who he is based on outcomes of other graffiti artist’s, which is understandable.
