The author could have preferred using an explicit theme because it is easy for any reader not to find the text mistakable or make them guess the meaning of the information, especially because the text is more fictional. The passage, therefore, insists on the need to take refuge to the chubby winged god cupid to help muse on the nature and image of love as described by the image. How the thesis relates to the topic sentences is, for example, in the statement ‘the history is not often reflected in the modern-day valentine celebration’ and the meaning given to cupid, which is described to mean, “Lust, love, and desire.” The two statements show a relationship with the thesis statement (The conversation, 2022). They describe how love could have come to be and how it is related to the modern-day meaning of love celebrated mostly during Valentine’s Day. The support that each paragraph gives in the reading is to reinforce the two sentences by explaining in detail the history of cupids (The conversation, 2022). It is also meant to show how love celebrations in the modern-day were started, and the relationship that the love and war cupids had to describe love and desire as per the reading fully.
