Film Contact follows Dr. Ellie Alloway receives first contact from an alien intelligence agency and overcomes the technical, political, and personal challenges of the response. Along the way, she struggles to understand the nature of science, the existence of God, and the meaning of life. We will also discuss some of these questions. The project’s challenge is to choose one of her three prompts and respond in one of the following formats: a short essay (2-3 pages), a short story (3-5 pages), works of art (paintings). , sculpture, painting, poetry, etc.) Each work of art must include a written description (6-10 sentences) about the work and its meaning. Whatever you do, you need a clear answer to one of the three prompts. You want them to know that you have thought seriously about your answer. Be honest and be creative. Projects will be evaluated according to the following criteria: – Direct response to the selected prompt (10 points) – Thoughtfulness and clarity of response (25 points) Writing style/quality of work (15 points) This is not an individual project, but a group project. Each student will submit their own project. The project will be held on the 30th or 31st. Submitted in class in October. The written parts must be typed and printed, and the unwritten parts added.
